A terrorist group just released documents that detail how a former Charlotte resident hoped to attack the United States.
Former al-Qaida leader Samir Khan was killed by a drone attack last year in Yemen.
Khan helped edit an online magazine to recruit terrorists.
Al-Qaida released a 16-page document written by Khan.
It is directed particularly at Muslims on the west coast and encourages them to attack on U.S. soil.

Something a York County teenager called a joke landed him in jail.
Brandon Lambert, 18, is charged with impersonating an officer.
Deputies said Lambert went into the Bargain City store on Highway 321 Friday with a badge, shirt and a hat that said SWAT.
Lambert told the clerk he was with the ATF and said he wanted to make sure they weren’t selling alcohol or tobacco to kids, police said.
Someone inside the store recognized Lambert, police said.
He later admitted he bought the clothing at an Army-Navy store.
